This wallpaper was decomposed to show how the different elements of the image were built, because it's quite different seeing it as a whole and seeing just the parts.
- Character placement, after cleaning and re-CG (removing the text) from the raw scan, placed on a dark (almost black) background.
- The original abstract-styled background, created blending a variety of clock-based stock photographs.
- I almost stopped at this point, because I had a scan and an abstract-esque background. Then I remembered my other clock idea...
- The clock obscures a lot of details - but in a way that fits the Count's character. Clock drawn in Illustrator, sized down.
- To heighten the effect and mimic the scene from the series, stained glass panes were created with color layers set to soft light.
- The text was done in Illustrator, since I could type directly into the clock and have it wrap around the rim. Textures on the text are copied from the abstract background layers for a subtle, eroded effect.
