This wallpaper was decomposed to show how the image was extended from a pixelated vertical image to a horizontal, painted wallpaper.
- Have to start somewhere - might as well show scan placement.
- The rest of the classroom was redrawn with the help of numerous perspective lines based on the scan.
- The smudge tool is your friend - it gave the entire image a soft, painted feeling.
- Skies are fun to do, and I tried to keep the same colors as from the scan, but with brighter clouds.
- The graininess of the sky was no problem - after a run through with the smudge tool, it matches the painted feeling I wanted in this wallpaper.
- Here's how the foreground and background look when put together.
- Adjustments of colors at the end help to enhance the mood - in this case, a slightly rosier hue gives a warmer feeling to the image. Oh, and text is good.
